Description
Here are the amperages for most common TIG torches:
Number 17 torch is air-cooled and rated at 150 amps.
Number 26 torch is also air-cooled and rated at 200 amps.
Number 18 torch is water-cooled and rated 350 amps.
Along with our standard collets, we also sell standard size collet bodies Collet bodies are also called “collet holders” and are also made of copper but thicker.
Without the body, the copper collet can be easily crushed and bent and cannot secure the tungsten electrode anymore and would need to be disposed of.
Our collets and collet bodies are just a small part of our TIG welding consumables and they are affordable especially if you buy them in sets.
We also sell MIG consumables such as MIG nozzles MB15, MB25, and MB36.
To give you an idea of how our welding collet sizes should correspond to the size of the tungsten electrode (in diameter) as well as to the cup size, here are the guidelines you can follow:
1.6 mm collet – 1/16 “ (1.6mm) diameter tungsten electrode – #4, 5 or 6 cup size
2.0 mm collet – 5/64” (2.0 mm) diameter tungsten electrode – #12 cup size
2.4 mm collet – 3/32” (2.4mm) diameter tungsten electrode – #6, 7 or 8 cup size
3.2 mm collet – 1/8” (3.2mm) diameter tungsten electrode – $7, 8 or 10 cup size
